We are very lucky as a club to have such dedicated members. Through various means we have an excellent stock of equipment owned by the club. These items are maintained by the club for use by beginners, come and try, demonstrations such as pageants and for members who may want to try something out before buying.

Our members shoot all types of bow including: Recurve, Bare bow, Compound and Longbow. Some of our archers have made their own bow under supervision; one of our members was a bowyer. We have had Flat bows to Mongolian bows. As a club rule we do not allow cross-bows to be used at the club.

Having so many members linked to ICT in their jobs we like to use this and benefit the club with using computer-video playback where an archer can see themselves shooting and have areas pointed out to enhance their shooting. We use the computer and projectors to show DVD’s and CD’s on archery. We have successfully ran competitions using a computerised system.

At the club we purchase equipment for the club to try and save the members time and money replacing kit. For instance we make our own strings and repair our own arrows. Members can save money and have repairs made without travelling and using their time. We

charge a small fee to replace the club materials.

We shoot indoors at Newbiggin- by-the-sea Sports and Community Centre on a Saturday from 15:00hrs – 18:00hrs. We shoot outdoors across the road at Mooreside Primary School, usually the same times although in nice weather if any of the coaches are available we sometimes start earlier to get extra time to shoot.
